Eight representatives of Government of Rwanda completed a Six day Training on Hydrometric Equipments.

A six day training offered by Hydrometric Experts form Uganda was successfully completed yesterday.
According to Kabalisa Vincent de Paul, The Director General of Water resource in Rwanda Natural Resources Authority, the Training was to equip Rwandan Experts knowledge about the use and Installation of new hydrometric equipments.
The overall objective of the training was to train and assist key GoR Staff in handling, installation and Exploitation of Automatic Water level recorders and Universal current Meter” Kabalisa said.
As added by Ngombwa Achille, the Data Base Manager in RNRA, the training was very important not only for those who participated but also to the whole Country.
He said that Apart from being able to calibrate, install and operate AWL recorders and their accessories, Participants are also able to use the Universal Current Metter in River discharge measurement and prepare corresponding the rating Curves.
He emphasized that the training results will improve a lot in water data collection and Management in the country.
The training was attended by 8 representatives of Rwanda from the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture and Higher learning Institutions which will help in disseminating Information and providing hands-on training to students and researchers.
